I have worked in car sales for a number of years for the largest used car retailer in the US, and I have gained a great deal of experience and knowledge during that time. In most cases, when a consumer takes a car to a used car dealer and accepts their offer, an extra $1500 to $2000 is often left on the table. I have been fortunate enough to have interceded in a handful of these situations and was able to facilitate a quick sale at a much more favorable selling price for the seller. Occasionally, I have even able to purchase the car myself and provide an immediate cash offer to the seller.
The details on this concept are similar to Training For A Cause, in that I plan in 2019 to take up to half of any profit and with the help of the seller locating a good cause (preferably a locally based charitable organization) and donating half of my earnings.
At this time, I am interested in consulting anyone looking to sell a vehicle in 2019 to see if they are open to learning more about this offer or anyone looking to improve their health who feels the help of an experienced trainer may help this time be more successful than previous attempts.
Generally, there is spread between the offer one will get at a used car dealership and the amount one could receive when carefully selling the car themselves. I have found that many people either simply do not want to go through the “hassle” of prepping the car for sale, posting an ad, fielding call and emails, going on test drives and completing paperwork that accompanies the selling a big-ticket item such as a car. Oftentimes, the prospect can overwhelm people and drive them to taking the car to a dealership which will usually offer thousands less to increase their own profit margin.
This is where I have had success coming in and working with someone who is looking to make more when selling their car, but who is not interested in all of the “dirty work.” I can do as much of the work as they like, and take the car through the sale process, guarantee the payment, and ensure the title transfer in order to reduce liability from a stranger taking possession of a car still registered to the previous owner.
My past sales have resulted in approximately $1800 on average over the dealership offer, and depending on the services provided, I can capture between 25-50% of this in return for my assistance. This leaves the customer with around a $1000 to do as they please, while not having to meet any strangers on Craigslist in the process. It has been an overall good experience for me and those I have helped and to add in a charitable contributing would only sweeten the deal in my mind.
